Sitting proudly at the edge of the escarpment, commanding breathtaking views of both the Megalong Valley and Kanimbla Ranges, the Hydro Majestic Hotel is situated in the leafy town of Medlow Bath, yet only a 5 minutes drive from Katoomba.
Once part of the original Belgravia Hotel, the famous Australian retailer Mark Foy purchased the site in 1902 for the purose of a luxurious hydropathic sanatorium. Dr George Baur formerly of “Shoeneck” Health Spa on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland was hired to devise and supervise a program of diets and weird and wonderful treatments. Over the last century, fire destroyed several parts of the hotel and in 1942 it was turned into a hospital by the US Defence Department for the casualties from the battles of the Coral Sea and South Pacific.
Today, after a series of refurbishments during the 1990s, it is now a celebration of Art Deco, Edwardian and French Provincial with a twist of contemporary design. Besides the culinary delights, you can also enjoy the amazing uninterrupted panoramic views of Megalong Valley from the elegantly designed breakfast room and function room.
Come and experience the elegance of yesteryear at the Hydro Majestic Hotel!
